Make a Breedable Pet Troubot Robot Egg for Second Life

This is Part 4 - Making an Troubot Robot Egg for breedable pets in Second Life

Previous: Making a breedable pet Troubot Robot in Second Life

Your Troubot Robot must be rezzed from another object in order to live and breed. In this case, I decided to make mine be born from a Nut and Bolt "Egg". Two prims are required to show the colors of your brred. You could make your egg look like batteries, or spark plugs, or any prim combination so long as there are at least two prims.

Make the Bolt

Make a prim and set it to type = Sculpt

Upload the above texture and apply it to the Sculpt texture window:

Set the sculpt to 'Inside Out'

Make the Nut

Make a second prim, and set it to type = Sculpt

Upload the above texture and apply it to the Sculpt texture window:

Now position them together to be an Nut and Bolt "Egg" shape, and link them together.

Apply a texture to the Nut and Bolt "Egg". I chose a steel color. Use a light texture as the Nut and Bolt "Egg" will take on the colors Red Green or Blue to show the breed type.

Name the Egg

This prim MUST be named 'Nut and Bolt'.

Scripting the Egg

Put a copy of the script xs_egg in the 'Nut and Bolt Egg'. Do not put anything else in the egg. A script in the next section will add a a Troubot Robot to the egg along with a copy of the egg.

Permissions

Set the permissions on the script to No Mod. Set the entire object to No Mod. And set it to copy, as you want your customers to grow lots of hungry little animals. If you are going to sell animals, set it to no copy.

How to Use

Take a copy of this nut and bolt egg back into inventory. In the next step, we will make a crate to carry your Troubot Robot.
